Getting Around Barcelona

  • On foot: you can definitely plan walking itineraries for most landmarks to explore the picturesque streets and discover hidden gems (plus hit your daily steps target while you’re at it!).
  • Public transport (metro, bus, tram, funicular): It’s easy, fast and there are multiple convenient ticket options such as the Hola Barcelona Travel Card, which includes a round trip to the airport, or the T-mobilitat.
  • Apps like Freenow connect you to official taxi rides, easy to book and more reliable.

Creating Memories

With breath-taking architecture, bustling streets, hidden corners and sunny rooftops, you won’t lack ideal spots to recharge, take the best photos and showcase your Partner.Co lifestyle.

Sagrada Familia: Starting in 1882 with architect F. Paula del Villar’s plans, the renowned basilica project was taken over by the Catalan architect Antoni Gaudí in 1883 and is still under construction.
Fun Fact: Gaudí knew it wouldn’t be finished in his lifetime and famously said, “My client is not in a hurry” referring to God.

Parc Güell: Admire the Catalonian Modernism of the city’s iconic park. Fastest way to get there is by bus or taxi, unless you’re willing to walk up a steep hill!
Fun Fact: Park Güell was originally planned as a luxury housing estate, but it totally failed.

Passeig de Gràcia: Elegant avenue where you will find Gaudì’s emblematic masterpieces of Casa Milà (a.k.a. La Pedrera) and Casa Batlló, as well as Casa Museu Amatller, designed by Puig i Cadafalch, where you can explore the museum and enjoy the famous Chocolate Amatller at its cafe. At the end of the avenue, you’ll end up in the vibrant Plaça de Catalunya square. To enjoy a panoramic view from here, head to the top floor cafe of El Corte Inglés!
Fun Fact: Passeig de Gràcia’s streetlights aren’t just streetlights, they’re early Gaudí designs.

La RamblaAfter the square, you’ll find yourself at the start of one of the city’s most famous streets, which hosts the equally renowned Mercat de la Boqueria food market.
Fun Fact: As you walk along La Rambla, near the Liceu metro station, you might unknowingly step on a colourful circular mosaic by the famous artist Joan Miró.

Barceloneta beach: September should still offer a pleasant, warm weather to enjoy the city’s seaside, rooftops and nightlife included.
Fun Fact: The beach you see today didn’t actually exist until the 1990s. Before the 1992 Barcelona Olympics, Barceloneta’s coastline was much more industrial, with factories and rail lines cutting it off from the sea.

Castell de Montjuïc: Castle accessible either by transport, on foot or via cable car. You can also enjoy the free evening light shows at the Font Màgica de Montjuïc
Fun Fact: Castell de Montjuïc was often used to control and bombard Barcelona itself during periods of unrest. In the 17th–19th centuries, cannons from the castle were turned toward the city, making it a symbol of repression rather than protection.

As you explore the city, make sure to enjoy traditional tapas and foods in local bars and restaurants (keep in mind kitchen opening times and check if booking is required!) away from main touristic roads such as Pa amb tomàquetchurros con chocolatecanelonsesqueixada de bacallà and many more. You can find great recommendations in local guides like this one.

Join us at PXP’26 for a unique experience you’ll never forget!
