A Proven Leader in Science and Innovation
Dr. Plant’s journey began as a first-generation college student. He earned degrees in Biology and Chemistry from the University of Utah, where his research earned national recognition from the American Association for the Advancement of Science. That early promise led to a prestigious cancer research fellowship at the National Institutes of Health, where he worked under world-renowned scientist Dr. Barbara Vonderhaar. Dr. Plant went on to earn his PhD in Biomedical Sciences from Harvard, where two Nobel laureates, Dr. Jack Szostak and Dr. Gary Ruvkun, advised and signed off on his graduate thesis. His time there deepened his passion for research and innovation, setting the foundation for his future in wellness science.
The Power of Community-Backed Science
After graduation, Dr. Plant continued his science and professional career as a post-doctoral fellow while also working in management consulting. He found his home in the supplemental health industry — drawn to its grassroots energy and passionate communities. Over the last 13 years, he has served as Chief Science Officer at two other major wellness companies, bringing his scientific expertise to product innovation and development.
Dr. Plant says he draws inspiration and motivation from the impactful health and wellness innovations discovered every year in this industry.
He added, “Communities coming together to encourage healthier habits have stood the test of time in creating the most impactful health and lifestyle changes. Creating a multi-generational community of healthy habits — across racial, regional and economic differences — is what I love about this industry.”

Outside the Lab
Dr. Plant lives in Arizona with his wife and four children. He’s passionate about weightlifting, mountain biking and, as he puts it, “all things science.” Fun fact: As a kid, he was known around his small town as a skilled beekeeper — even occasionally getting called out of school to help corral wild swarms!
