This year, Lunar New Year — the Year of the Wood Dragon — will be celebrated on February 10. Based on the Chinese Zodiac, every Lunar New Year is associated with an animal in a 12-year cycle, with the dragon being the fifth sign.
As we approach the Year of the Dragon, we wanted to take a moment to show you how the Dragon holds special significance, not just for those born during one of the dragon years, but for everyone who can use the energy and apply it to their own lives.
The years of the dragon are 1952, 1964, 1976, 1988, 2000, 2012 and 2024.
WHAT DOES THE DRAGON REPRESENT?
Many attributes are associated with those born in the Year of the Dragon. People born under this sign are often seen as passionate and ambitious, adventurous and confident. They’re willing to push beyond their comfort zone to achieve greatness.
Because the dragon is paired with the fire element, creativity and energy are two aspects that are also embodied by those born under the dragon sign.
In the cultures celebrating the Lunar New Year, the Dragon symbolizes power and authority, specifically the emperor. The traits that make a good leader are often tied to those living under the sign, too, meaning that, when focused, dragons can succeed in both their careers and their personal lives.
WHAT DOES THIS MEAN FOR ME?
Even if you’re not born in the Year of the Dragon, you can still benefit from the energy the year exudes:
- Stand up to challenges and conquer them.
- Use your ambition to persevere, even when the future is unclear or difficult.
- Channel your passion into your business with the thought that you will succeed.
Thinking about the leadership aspects of the sign, you can also look to the Dragon for how to lead charismatically and justly. If you have people in your organization who need a boost, take that step and support them. They’ll look up to you for your advice and follow in your footsteps as a creative, ambitious Brand Partner.
The Chinese Zodiac symbols foster unity and community culturewide. This year, use them as inspiration to grow your community, including your Upline, Downline, family and friends. How can you contribute to your community in a way that lifts everyone up and ensures success for all?
Happy Lunar New Year!
