As the new year approaches, you may be one of many who are setting new wellness goals, and we love supporting your efforts with an annual transformation journey based on our Body Balance System*.
On the last edition, Partner.Co’s Brand Partner Valeria Testaverde’s inspiring story earned her the Transformation Journey Ambassador title, and this month we’ve partnered with her on a social media series offering six simple tips and habits that can easily be implemented in your routine to prepare both your body and mind to achieve your transformation goals.
Whether you are joining our next transformation journey, or you simply need help to know where to start, these tips will fuel your motivation and help you gradually build a healthier lifestyle.
1. Accountability Partner
You don’t have to do this alone! Sharing your goals with a friend, team member or relative will make the journey more exciting and you both will help each other not to give up easily!
Tip: Take a moment now to pick your transformation partner, contact them and move on to the next tip.
2. Daily Hydration
Drinking at least 1.5/ 2 litres of water every day is essential, but sometimes we’re so busy we may skip this important step! To avoid this, you could carry a bottle with you or download an app for daily reminders. Easy, right?
Tip: Replace sugary and soft drinks with fresh, purified water every day.
3. Develop a Successful Mindset
Don’t underestimate the power of simple habits! Since they make it easy for you to stick to them, your motivation and confidence grow. In turn, you start developing consistency, which is the key to achieve and maintain results. Without realising it, you’ll be transforming your mindset!
Tip: Create two lists: short-term and long-term goals, and divide the latter into smaller steps. E.g.: if you want to wake up 1 hour earlier in the morning, get up 10 minutes earlier than usual for a week, then increase to 15 the following and so on. Organise the small goals in a monthly calendar and tick every day you’ve completed them.
4. Increase Daily Steps
Exercise is obviously crucial for a healthy mind and body, but if you don’t have a complete workout routine yet, you can start by increasing your daily steps. This could involve using the stairs rather than the lift or walking to the nearby grocery store instead of driving. As it becomes part of your lifestyle, your desire to exercise will increase.
Tip: Think of ways you could increase your daily steps. For example, organise a walk to the park once a week with family, or have a 10 minute walk every day. Track your progress!
5. Learn to Accept Failure
As you celebrate your progress, you may also find yourself making mistakes. When this happens, don’t give up! Think of what may be preventing you from reaching your goal and make needed adjustments. For example: exercise 3 times a week instead of 5, or for 15 minutes a day instead of 1 hour. Remember you’re building a lifestyle, not a temporary phase, so be patient, be realistic and make it enjoyable.
Tip: Keep the monthly calendar we mentioned earlier somewhere you can always see it and make sure you check it every day. If you notice there’s something you’re particularly struggling with, readjust the calendar.
6. Healthy Snacks
A healthy, balanced diet is essential for achieving results, but once again, we’re at the stage of making things simple! Start by replacing unhealthy temptations you may have at home with delicious, healthy alternatives.
Tip: Learn a new healthy snack recipe every week, you could even get your kids to help! When you are craving a snack, you will have guilt-free choices at hand.
