When in Rome… do as the Romans do! Let’s look at some ideas to create happy memories solo or with your team in this magnificent city.
Art & Culture

Some describe Rome as an open museum, and with good reason. Going around the city feels like walking through history, and here are some recommendations to explore its rich heritage:
- Colosseum: You can’t leave without visiting the city’s most emblematic amphitheatre, dating back to 80 A.D. Part of the Archaeological Park of the Colosseum together with the Roman Forum and the Palatine, it’s a fascinating starting point to discover ancient Rome!
- Trevi Fountain: Legend has it that you’ll ensure your return to the city by throwing one coin into the fountain. With two coins, (thrown one by one), you will fall in love in Rome… and even get married there with a third! Your wishes may come true… but if anything, you’ll be supporting those in need as that’s what the money collected is used for.
- Pantheon: Iconic monument that will amaze you with both its exterior and interior architecture and art.
- Saint Peter’s Basilica: Famously erected by the emperor Constantine around 320 A.D. and with the collaboration of renowned artists such as Michelangelo, it dominates the Saint Peter’s Square in the Vatican City and is a must-see for those with a religious interest in Christianity and/or timeless art. Of course, your visit here should include the Vatican Museum!
Taste the Tradition

To enjoy an authentic culinary experience, opt for Rome’s traditional dishes from a local “Trattoria”. These include:
- Carbonara: Popular pasta (usually spaghetti) dish made of eggs (not cream!), guanciale (not bacon!) and pecorino cheese.
- Amatriciana: Usually served with bucatini pasta and made of tomato sauce, guanciale and pecorino cheese.
- Cacio e Pepe: Traditional pasta dish made of pecorino cheese and black pepper.
- Saltimbocca alla romana: Thin slices of beef cooked with ham, sage, butter and white wine.
- Trippa alla romana: rich tripe dish cooked with tomato pulp, pecorino and other ingredients.
- Coda alla vaccinara: Slow-cooked oxtail, chopped vegetables and peeled tomatoes.
- Carcofi alla Giudia: Crunchy fried artichokes. If you prefer something creamier, you can try the carcofi alla romana.
- Supplì: Rice croquettes filled with ragù and mozzarella.
