We\u2019ve already covered some of our <a href=\"https:\/\/blog.partner.co\/en-au\/celebrating-national-wellness-month-with-top-physical-wellness-tips\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">top tips for maintaining or improving your physical well-being<\/a>, so now we\u2019re going to cover some of our favourite ways to improve your mental wellness!<\/p>\n\n<h2><strong>TRY JOURNALING<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n<p>Sometimes, if you can\u2019t get certain thoughts out of your head, the best thing to do is write them down. It\u2019s as easy as sitting down with a notebook and your favourite pen and devoting some time to writing out what you\u2019re thinking about. The act of journaling can help relieve stress and anxiety by helping you externalize feelings in a productive manner and has also been shown to help navigate trauma.<\/p>\n\n<p>If you\u2019re unsure of where to start when journaling, try some of these prompts:<\/p>\n\n<ul class=\"has-text-color\" style=\"color:#7c848d;font-size:16px\"><li>What is one thing you\u2019re grateful for today?<\/li><li>What are your goals for the next week, month and year?<\/li><li>If money were no object, where would you take a vacation and what would you do?<\/li><\/ul>\n<h2><strong>UNPLUG FOR AN HOUR<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n<p>We know, we know. If you\u2019re reading this, then you\u2019re on some sort of device. The thing is, if when you\u2019re done reading this, you set your phone down or close your laptop for an hour, you may start to feel less stress and anxiety. Aside from the physical benefits \u2014 reducing eye strain, improved posture and improved quality sleep \u2014 there are a host of mental benefits associated with less screen time.<\/p>\n\n<p>There\u2019s no denying that technology is addictive. How often have you caught yourself scrolling endlessly through dog videos or the latest dance trend? By unplugging, even for a little bit, you\u2019re helping break that addiction cycle, lowering your stress and anxiety, improving your real-life connections and giving yourself time to engage in other interests.<\/p>\n\n<h2><strong>LISTEN TO YOUR FAVOURITE SONG<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n<p>It doesn\u2019t matter if you\u2019re cruising in your car with the windows down or cuddling up in an armchair, turning your favourite song on isn\u2019t just fun, it\u2019s good for you! Listening to music has been shown in studies to stimulate your brain, which can lead to better learning and engagement. Listening to your favourite song can also help your memory (raise your hand if you can remember every lyric, but not your aunt\u2019s birthday).<\/p>\n\n<p>Finally, you\u2019re likelier to be happier because when you listen to something you love, your brain releases dopamine, serotonin and oxytocin \u2014 all of which have a positive impact on the brain.
